Ahoy Probus Cruisers!

Wednesday August 22 is the date we set sail from Parry Sound Town Dock, down the South Channel to Henry’s Fish Restaurant at Sans Souci, on Frying Pan Island in Georgian Bay! The early weather forecasts are good: mostly sunny and temperature around 24. So wear your sun hats, but make sure you can anchor them to your head. There’s always a nice breeze on the bay!

When you reach the Parry Sound exit signs on Hwy. 69, follow the one that says Island Queen Cruises. The Island Queen is a huge white cruise ship; our smaller green vessel is at the same dock but it is closer to the road. There will be a sign at the dock. You can’t miss it. Lots of free parking dockside and a really nice gift shop that also sells ice cream!

Try to be there nice and early. Our scheduled departure time is 9:45, but boarding will start at 9:15. We will leave as soon as everyone is on board. There is some standing room outside at the front (bow), great for photos, but seating is all inside with lots of windows. We should be at Henry’s by 11:45. The restaurant is a very short easy uphill walk from the dock. Enjoy the pan-fried pickerel or perch; both are delicious (remember that lunch is at your expense). Take lots of time to enjoy your food and the spectacular surroundings, but be back on the Chippewa by 1:15 for the ride back up the channel. We arrive at the Parry Sound dock around 3:15.

Joan Lewis and I (Sandy Eaton) will be there in the morning to greet you and check you in. See you next Wednesday!
